My son Sam, my daughter-in-law Beth, my granddaughter Kylie, and my new grandson, Ryan, born 9/28/09 at 5:50 pm, weight 8 lbs 6 oz. Everyone doing very well, and very happy indeed.

Peter Straub’s second horror novel, If You Could See Me Now, has just been reissued by Centipede Press in a beautiful new deluxe limited edition, which includes several superb photos by J K Potter and an Afterword by me. It’s a favorite of mine among all of Peter’s work.

#7 LULU by Alban Berg, Finale

There are only a handful of operas that I want to listen to and actually own on CD, and two of them are by Alban Berg. Lulu is one of them, and she is the main character in one of my short stories. If you want to know more about what’s going on here, Lulu has moved to London just in time to meet Jack the Ripper. But the whole opera is brilliant, well worth the time.
