Tech note

My apologies to anyone who has tried to access this website and could only get part of the page. The problem was caused by a photograph (Necon 2005) I’d posted that was too large for some web browsers (Internet Explorer, Yahoo) to handle in this website format.

The browser I use is Mozilla Firefox, which had no problem with the photo (Firefox is a free download, and I strongly recommend it).

I have removed the photo, and the website seems to come up fine in all browsers now. If anyone still has a problem, please let me know.

Borderlands Bootcamp

I’ll be in Baltimore this weekend (Jan 20-22) as a participating author at the annual Borderlands Bootcamp at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards.  The Bootcamp is an intensive writing workshop.  I’ll be working with a group of new and developing writers, specifically with regard to issues of character and point-of-view in the novel.

The Nightwalker

Cyrus Nowrasteh and New Path Pictures have taken a new option on the movie and television rights to my novel, THE NIGHTWALKER. I’m very happy and fortunate to have someone of his talent and experience working to turn one of my books into a good movie.

Cyrus wrote and directed the acclaimed 2001 Showtime original movie, THE DAY REAGAN WAS SHOT, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Richard Crenna. He also wrote another well-received Showtime original, 10,000 BLACK MEN NAMED GEORGE (2002), and he co-wrote last year’s Steven Spielberg epic miniseries, INTO THE WEST, which was broadcast on TNT.

Most recently, Cyrus wrote and produced UNTITLED HISTORY PROJECT (final title pending), an ambitious miniseries that ranges from the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 to the attacks of 9/11. It is currently in post-production and is scheduled to air on ABC TV this May. I will post more information about this as it becomes available.
